The Shaked Darca Secondary School basketball team placed first in the northern district in high school basketball

The Shaked Darca Secondary School basketball team beat the Beit Hachinuch Geon Hayarden Darca basketball team and placed first in the northern district in high school basketball. The Shaked Darca team was in the lead throughout the game and at the time of the closing whistle, the score was 52-39 in favor of the team, which also hosted the game. The game against Geon Hayarden Darca was one of two games in which the team competed after winning a tough and close game against the Yifat team, which ended with only a 5 point difference in favor of Shaked Darca (49-44). The school principal, Mr. Boaz Schwartz, accompanied the students throughout and was part of the cheer team at the time of the win.

Throughout the games, the team enjoyed the enthusiastic encouragement of the fans – who call themselves “the Red Army” in reference to the team’s red uniforms, and at the end of the game the players received individual medals and a trophy to mark the moving win. At the end of the game, the players prayed the afternoon prayer (Mincha) and expressed their hope of similar achievements in the national games which will take place shortly.
